This course is ideal for those indivduals who want to learn fundamental accounting principles whether for career advancement or for their own business. Students will learn the basics of recording business events using accounting and continue to build on those basics to include recording of daily transactions, preparing financial statements and adjustments, reconcilation of bank accounts, preparing payroll entries, handling accounts receivable and payable transactions, and more.

Students will also complete various computerized accounting workshops by using Simply Accounting and QuickBooks. Course materials will include a student version of these programs.

This 12 week evening course is Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 pm starting September 13th. Seats are limited and are starting to fill up, so for more information or to register, please call 780-424-1338.

This course is designed to teach individuals about the concepts of accounting by following the development of a company’s accounting records from the day the company starts in business to the end of its first year in business. Those who know nothing about accounting, after taking this course, will be able to understand business accounting and financial statement preparation. Students will receive a student version of Simply Accounting and QuickBooks to complete various computer related accounting workshops.
